If you are encountering the message below while attempting to approve an order in Zenfolio, it indicates that the payment for that order has not yet fully cleared in PayPal.
“Unable to proceed. First complete the payment authorization in PayPal”
This often happens under the following circumstances:
The client has made a payment utilizing an eCheck, which typically requires several days to process.
The payment necessitates manual authorization in PayPal, which is often the case with specific funding sources or as a result of PayPal's internal risk assessment.
What you need to do:
Log into your PayPal account and identify the pending transaction.
Proceed with the following actions:
If you approve or accept the transaction in PayPal, you will be able to approve the order in Zenfolio as per the usual process.
If you decline the transaction in PayPal, Zenfolio will automatically cancel the order and issue a refund to your client.
Once the payment has been accepted and cleared, please return to Zenfolio to approve the order.
What happens if you don’t act?
Not all PayPal transactions require a manual approval. In instances where a client utilizes PayPal eCheck, the processing time for the funds to clear may extend up to 7 business days. Upon the automatic completion of a payment in PayPal, you will have the capability to approve the order in Zenfolio without any additional steps.
In the event that the payment requires manual intervention (such as accepting or declining the transaction), and you do not respond:
If you take no action in PayPal and the payment clears, you will be able to approve the order in Zenfolio as per usual.
If an order is not approved in Zenfolio within 21 days, the order will be automatically canceled and refunded to the client.
If you decline the payment in PayPal, the order will be automatically canceled and refunded to the client.
