The length of time it takes to upload your photos depends primarily on the upload speed of your Internet connection and the size of the files.
While most DSL and cable broadband service providers advertise fast download speeds, their upload speeds are usually much slower than the advertised download speeds- which will result in long upload times.
Testing the upload speed of your internet connection:
- Go to www.speedtest.net
- Click Go.
- When both download and upload test are completed the results will be displayed.
Another major factor affecting upload time is the size of your files. Larger files will take much longer to upload. For more information about optimizing your photos and file sizes see the Help section on preparing your photographs.
There are some primary troubleshooting steps that can be taken to attempt to resolve any slowness for your uploading:
- Clear browser cache or attempt uploading in a different browser temporarily to see if there's a difference.
- Reboot modem/router to clear out any built up data that might be impacting certain connections.
