Zenfolio is required to collect and remit taxes based on regulations in multiple countries and states. Please note that tax exemption does not apply to VAT (Value Added Tax). If your purchase is subject to VAT, Zenfolio is legally obligated to collect and remit this tax as required, regardless of tax-exempt status in other regions.
If you're buying something on behalf of a tax-exempt organization or purchasing a tax-exempt item, we’re here to help.
Purchasing on Behalf of a Tax-Exempt Organization
If the purchase qualifies for tax exemption, such as when buying for a recognized non-profit, please contact our helpful support team. When reaching out to Zenfolio Support, make sure to:
- Provide the order number(s) associated with the purchase(s) that should be tax-exempt
- Attach your tax exemption certificate
We’ll review the submitted documents and may be able to issue a refund for any sales tax charged on the transaction.
In addition, you might be eligible to apply for a sales tax credit directly through your state’s Department of Revenue for more details.
Accepted Tax Exemption Documentation
To process your tax-exempt purchase, we need valid exemption documentation for the destination state of the order. Many states offer their own tax exemption certificates, which are generally available online. Some states also accept a "Multi-Jurisdiction Form" provided by the Multistate Tax Commission or a "Streamlined Sales Tax Form" available through Streamlined Sales Tax.
State-Based Tax Exemption on Specific Purchases
If you believe your purchase should be tax-exempt based on your state’s rules, please notify us by contacting our support team. Zenfolio partners with local tax authorities to ensure compliance with tax collection requirements.
