The iOS Zenfolio app has been delisted from the App Store. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Please note that the Zenfolio app may continue to function on devices that have already downloaded it, and it can still be downloaded HERE.
Zenfolio allows you to view, take and upload photos using your iPhone and iPad.
All you need to get started using your iPhone to manage your photos and galleries is the Zenfolio iPhone app which you can download for free by clicking here!
Through the Zenfolio app you can perform many tasks that include taking, uploading and sharing photos as well as many managing and editing of your photos, galleries and groups.
There is a separate app (the Photo Moments app) that the photographer can provided their clients that the clients can use to view their photos in an app.
When you open up the Zenfolio app and login your My Photos will show but you can tap the Menu icon which will give you the options to go other administrative areas of your Zenfolio site.
From the Menu you will be able to perform administrative tasks in the following areas:
My Photos
At the bottom of the screen for any group you are viewing, you will be able to:>
- Tap Add to create a new group, gallery or collection within that group
- Tap Share to access and copy links, send and email invite or Share on Facebook or Twitter
- On Photo pages, you can tap "Publish to Blog"to make a quick blog post with the selected photo. - Tap Edit to edit information about the group such as the title and caption. when you Edit Info you can also change the cover photo and set the access controls. You can also Organize the group which will allow you to select galleries and collections to move or delete them if necessary.
By default your Groups and Galleries will show their contents in a grid of large thumbnails, but to make scrolling through your content easier, you also have the option to view the contents in List View.
Taking Photos and Videos with Your iPhone or iPad
Tap the Menu icon then tap 'Take Photo' or 'Shoot Video' to use the built-in camera on your iPhone or iPad. When you're satisfied with the photo or video, tap 'Use Photo' or 'Use Video' in the lower right corner of your screen to add it to your upload queue. Or tap 'Retake' in the lower left corner of your screen to take another photo or video.
Taking a Gallery To-Go
Taking a gallery or group "To-Go" lets you download the photos onto your phone so you can view them even when you're not connected to the Internet. You will need to select galleries individually to take them to-go.
When taking a gallery or group To-Go, you are preloading all the photos and thumbnails into Zenfolio's cache so that you can view the gallery even without a network connection (or on a very slow connection).
In other words, without To-Go photos are download only when you look at them (and saved in the cache). When you take a gallery To-Go you'll be able to view all the photos, even if you're in a nuclear submarine deep in the Mariana trench.
Synchronizing
You will need to select galleries individually to take them to-go. After a gallery is marked for taking To-Go, tap the Synchronize button to download the photos to your phone. Make sure you're connected to the Internet via WiFi and that you have a few minutes to let the sync complete - depending on how many photos you're taking To-Go this can take a while.
If you have to leave the app before synchronizing is done, the sync will be canceled. Just come back and tap Synchronize again to restart it.
Fully synchronized galleries and groups will have a green sync icon indicating that they are all synced up. An icon showing a checkmark means all the photos are not downloaded yet - just tap "Synchronize Now" when you're ready to start the sync. Once synchronized, the galleries will show an icon with an exclamation point.
Setting To-Go Photo Sizes
Two sizes of photos can be taken To-Go: normal and high-res.
The normal size is what's typically displayed when viewing a photo full screen. To zoom in, you need the large size.
If you want to be able to zoom in on To-Go photos:
- Tap the Menu icon
- Tap 'Settings'
- Tap To-Go
- Turn on the "Take High-Res photos To-Go" setting. Then large photo sizes will be downloaded in addition to the normal size, allowing you to zoom in without being connected to the network.
You can take photos with your iPhone's built-in camera to upload to Zenfolio, or upload photos already on your phone. These photos are stored in a queue until you upload them.
Use Zenfolio to access your photos anywhere. Tap a gallery to see the photos inside, and tap a photo thumbnail to see a larger version. When you're looking at a photo you can press the play button to start a slideshow.
Editing Information
You can edit titles, captions and keywords, and even change access control by navigating to any group, gallery or photo then tapping Edit in the lower right corner of the menu at the bottom of your screen - then selecting Edit Info.
Synchronizing for Viewing Offline
You can take a gallery "To-Go" so you can view the photos even when an Internet connection isn't available. Read more about To-Go. For galleries that you're taking To-Go, you'll see a small sync status icon.
An icon showing and exclamation point means your gallery is synced up and ready to go.
An icon showing a check mark means the gallery is marked for sync but isn't synced yet - just tap the Sync icon and select Synchronize Now.
Adding Group, Galleries and Collections
In the My Photos area, the Add plus icon lets you add a new gallery, collection or group.
Sharing
Tap Share on the lower-right to copy links, share via email or share Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.>
To copy links to different photo sizes, tap the Edit button (top right corner) and select the Info tab.
Please note: sharing to Instagram requires the Instagram app to be installed on your device and only individual photo pages can be shared.
On Photo pages, you can tap "Publish to Blog"to make a quick blog post with the selected photo.
The settings view is where you can change how the Zenfolio App behaves.

A few notes:
Know Your Data Plan
We recommend synchronizing your To-Go galleries or collections only when connected to the Internet via WiFi. Using the phone network will be much slower and uses a significant amount of bandwidth. If you have a limit on your data plan, downloading a gallery over the phone network could use all your allotted bandwidth and become very expensive.
Everything that's downloaded from the Zenfolio webservers as you use the app is saved locally on your device in a cache. A cache is simply a place to store items for later use, like a filing cabinet, and it's used to prevent the app from having to download the same photos over and over as you browse. This makes things feel snappy and keeps network use to a minimum.
Clearing the Cache
When you take a gallery To-Go, everything needed to display the gallery without network access is also stored in the cache.
You can see how big the cache is in the app's settings by tapping on the setting/gear icon, then tapping on Zenfolio App Info. Here you will have the option to clear the cache if you need to free up space on your phone.
