Work with your Zenfolio account on the go with the Zenfolio Android app for photographers.
The app allows for photo management through your Android phone or tablet.
Here are some of the administrative tasks available to you through the app:
- Browse, create, and modify your groups, galleries, and collections.
- View your online photos through a native Android experience.
- Upload new photos to your account.
- Download entire galleries for smooth offline viewing with the To-Go feature.
- Edit photo titles, captions, categories, and keywords.
- Share photos and galleries using Android's built-in sharing menu, or copy direct links to share however you like.
This app is designed for photographers to use with their Zenfolio account. For their clients, there is a different app that is available for viewing the client's images. Click HERE for more information on the Zenfolio app for clients.

When opening the app, the contents of the All Photographs group will be displayed by default.
Tap the menu icon in the top left corner to access the most commonly used functions.

Add Photo
This is used to upload a photo to your account. This can also be used to take a new photo with the device's camera and upload it to the account.
Add Video
This is used to upload a video to your account. This can also be used to take a new video with the device's camera and upload it to the account.
Shared Favorites
Here you can view Favorites Lists that have been shared with you by your clients.
To view your clients' Favorites Lists that have not been shared with you, you'll need to log into your account using a desktop or laptop web browser. Click HERE for more information on viewing your clients' Favorites lists.
Upload
This is used to view your queue of images that are waiting to be uploaded to your account. Any images that are already in the process of being uploaded to the account will also be displayed here.
Depending on your Settings, images maybe be queued to upload while the app waits for the phone to connect to a WiFi network.
Tap the upload icon to proceed with uploading the images in the queue even when not connected to a WiFi network.
Tap the plus icon to select images to upload to the account from this screen.
Offline List
The app allows for storing and caching groups and galleries in the phone's storage. This allows for the quicker viewing of images even when connected to a slow internet connection. It can also be used to save on mobile internet data charges by allowing you to cache the images while connected to a WiFi connection.
- Tap the plus sign
to choose the group or gallery that you would like to add to the Offline List.
- Tap the sync icon
at the top to synchronize (update) all of the groups and galleries in the Offline List.
- Tap the sync icon
to the right of a specific group or gallery to synchronize just that item.
Please note that you will still need to be connected to the internet to log in to your Zenfolio account using the app. If you'll need to display photos at a location that has no internet connection, then we recommend downloading copies of the images to your devices instead of caching them in the Offline List.
Settings
Here you can set your preferences for using the app.
Here is the list of the settings that can be configured in Settings:
- Slideshow Speed- This sets the number of seconds before the next image is displayed when viewing a slideshow in the app.
- Take XX-Large To-Go- This allows you to choose cache the largest display image size when taking a gallery To-Go. Using the XX-Large display image size will use more of your device's storage. It can also use up more of your mobile data if the To-Go images are downloaded while connected to your mobile network.
- Default Upload Gallery- This sets the default gallery to which automatic image uploads are to be sent. It also sets the gallery to which an image will be uploaded when no gallery is specified.
- Auto upload Photos and Videos- This allows you to choose if you would like to allow images to be automatically uploaded in the background when they are added to the Upload Queue. Disable this if you would like to be able to review the uploads before they are sent to your Zenfolio account.
- Auto upload Photos and Videos only when WiFi connection is active- This allows the images to be uploaded when connected to a WiFi network. You may want to enable this option to save on mobile data charges.
- Auto Queue Photos- Automatically add photos taken with the device's camera to the Upload Queue.
- Copy Photos to Phone- Automatically save photos downloaded through the app to the device's default folder for storing photos.
- Default Access Control- This allows you to set the default Access Control settings when creating a new gallery using the app. If not set, the gallery will be set to automatically follow the Access Control settings of its containing group
Clearing Cache
If you experience any issues with the app, it often helps to clear the data that has been cached by the app. The option to clear the cache can be found in Settings by tapping the three dot icon in the top right corner.

This can be used to find the app version for troubleshooting purposes.

Group/Gallery View Functions
Navigate to a group or gallery by tapping the item in the main window of the app.
Once tapped, that particular item will be load and the items within that group/gallery will be displayed.
- Tap the info icon
to review the item's Title and Caption. Here you can also find the created and last modified dates.
- Tap the pencil edit icon
or
edit the Title, Caption and Keywords. Here you can also find the option to change the sorting order of the items contained within the group or gallery. And you can also edit the item's Access Control type.
- Tap the share icon
to share a link to the item using various apps installed in the device.
- Tap the plus icon
add a new group or gallery (when viewing a group). Tap to add a photo or video from the device to the gallery (when viewing a gallery). Newly added photos/videos will be added to the Upload Queue.
Group/Gallery Menu
Additional options can be found by tapping the menu icon in the top right corner when viewing a group or gallery.
- Copy Links- Tap to copy the direct link (URL) to the group or gallery to your clipboard. You can then paste it into other apps (such as an email or text messaging app) for sending to your clients.

Download- Use to download copies of all of the images in the gallery to your device. You can choose to download a copies of the full size original images or lower resolution display images.
Mobile data charges may be charged by your mobile network provider when downloading images over a mobile data network. Also the image will use device storage, so please make sure there is enough room in the device's memory to store the downloaded photos and videos.
- Offline- Tap to add the gallery to your Offline List. If the gallery has already been added to the list, this can be used to remove it from the list.
- Client Presentation- This is used when you have to present images in your device in person with your clients. When enabled, it locks out all other app functions so that client is only able to view the photos in the gallery.
- Guestbook- Tap to view guestbook entries left by visitors to that group or gallery
- Slideshow- Tap to view the images in the gallery in a slideshow
Photo Menu
To work with a specific image, tap on the image in the gallery. The image will then be displayed prominently in the main window. Tap the menu icon in the top right corner to display the photo menu which contains options for working with the image.
- Info- Tap to view details about the image. Here you can find the image's Title, Caption, Keywords, Copyright, Filename, Resolution, Date Taken and Upload Date. You can also review the metadata embedded into the image's EXIF data.
- Edit- Tap to edit the image's Title, Caption, Keywords and Copyright.
- Copy Link- Tap to copy the direct link (URL) to the original image to your device's clipboard. Please note that the image cannot be viewed by others if the downloading of original images is not enabled in the gallery's Access Control settings.
- Delete- Tap to delete the image from the gallery and your account. This permanently deletes the image from your account and cannot be undone.
- Move- Tap to move the image to a different gallery.
- Add to Collection- Tap to add the image to a Collection.
- Set as Group Cover- Tap to set the selected image as the cover thumbnail of any group in your account.
- Quick Blog Post- Tap to create a simple blog post that contains the selected image.
- Download- Tap to download a copy of the image to your phone's storage. You'll be able to choose from downloading a copy of the full size original image or a lower resolution display image.
- Comments- Tap to view comments left by your site visitors about the image. You can also leave your own comment through this function.
- Slideshow- Tap to view a slideshow of all of the images stored in the containing gallery.
