To install the ICC profile on your computer, go to the Products From Integrated Vendors page of your account, select the vendor you're going to be using, and please follow these installation instructions:
For MAC users:
- Download ICC profile onto your desktop
- Open your hard drive and go to System > Library > Colorsync > Profiles
- Drag the ICC profile into this folder
- Re-start your photo editing program
For PC users:
- Download the ICC profile and save it on your desktop
- Right click over the profile and click Install Profile
- Re-start your photo editing program
General Instructions for Soft-Proofing
After you have loaded your profile onto your computer, you can view your image through the filter of the profile in an editing software program such as Lightroom or CS Photoshop. Here are simple instructions for these two programs:
Soft Proofing in Lightroom
- Open your file in the Develop tab
- Go to View>> Soft Proofing and choose Show Proof
- Click on sRGB or AdobeRGB (1998) next to Profile: and choose “Other…”
- In the window that opens, check the profile next to the profile you wish to use.
- Click OK
- Select Perceptual next to Intent:
- Check Simulate Paper & Ink
From there, you can make any changes that you think are necessary and save the file for printing Metal Art Prints.
Soft Proofing in Adobe Photoshop Creative Suite
- Open up your file in Photoshop
- Go to View>> Proof Setup and click on Custom…
- Under Device to Simulate, choose the lab's profile.
- Choose Perceptual for Rendering Intent
- Check Simulate Paper Color
After you have loaded your profile to soft proof your image, you can make any changes you see necessary to the file and save it to use for printing.
*Please note that you will have the most consistent results if you are calibrating your monitor and working in a light-controlled work environment.
