If you are experiencing slow network access the first thing to do is to execute a speed test of your current connection. Even if your ISP provides you with a certain speed estimate you may not always be getting that speed. Additionally, over time your modem/router can get backed up with old data that could slow down your connection. If you perform a speed test and notice that you're getting slower speeds that expected, sometimes unplugging your modem and router for 30 seconds before plugging them back in can reset things and get your speeds back to normal.
Executing the Speed Test
- Go to www.speedtest.net.
- Click Go.
- When both download and upload tests are completed the results will be displayed.
