When photographs are uploaded to Zenfolio, smaller, lower-resolution display images are automatically generated. These display images are the ones shown on your website.
This process is implemented to prevent the unauthorized use of your originally uploaded high-resolution images and to ensure that your images load with minimal delay. The original image files are preserved and remain unaltered. The original image file is utilized for order fulfillment.
As part of managing access to photographs and videos, you have the option to specify the size of display images that visitors can view. The primary reason for limiting image sizes is to provide an additional layer of protection against unauthorized use of your photographs and videos. The default display size for newly uploaded images is Extra-Large, but this can be easily modified.
The extra-large image size is predominantly used for Slideshow presentations and the Dim the Lights photo view. If you choose not to enable extra-large display sizes, then Slideshow and Dim the Lights will revert to the display size setting you have selected in the access control options.
Please refer to the Support Article on display sizes for further information regarding display image sizes.
