Can I transfer my Classic Zenfolio account to the New Zenfolio platform?
At this time it will not be possible to migrate or transfer your current Classic Zenfolio account to our new Zenfolio platform. The new Zenfolio platform is built on an entirely new infrastructure that is not compatible or transferable with the Classic Zenfolio platform.
Attempting to upgrade or change your Classic Zenfolio account to the new platform will result in a completely separate account being created.
What is the difference between the Pro and Advanced Plans?
The Advanced plan is the equivalent of the Pro plan, with a handful of additional features especially handy if you sell your photography. Here are some Advanced plan feature highlights:

Ability to have Multiple-user accounts for different levels of access

-
Ability to Ship orders directly to your Studio

What is the Difference between the Starter and Pro plans?
The biggest difference between the Starter and Pro plans is the Starter plan is used primarily for showcasing your work, proofing, and purchasing prints only at base cost. In other words, if you are interested in selling your photography for a profit, the Pro plan will provide a robust selling platform.
Check out this link for a detailed plan comparison.
What are the differences between all of the plans?
If you care to take a look at the plans side-by-side to see their differences in order to learn which is the best fit for you, check out this chart.
What are the Basic, Unlimited, Premium, and Premium Business plans?
These plans are what we call our Legacy plans, and that simply means that we offered them at one time but no longer offer them for new or existing users. If you are a new user, or a user interested in switching plans, you may only choose from our current plan options, listed here.
Can I upload Raw photos?
Sure! You may absolutely upload and store RAW files with any of our current Classic plans.
We provide 2 Gigabytes of free RAW storage in your account, with the opportunity to store more for additional fees. The fees are only on a “per-usage” basis, and are billed monthly.
Keep in mind that RAW files in your account are only for storage, not for display on your website. If you’re wanting to display images on your website, make sure that they have been uploaded in one of the following supported file formats for display: JPEG, GIF, PNG, TIFF. Of course, video files can also be displayed.
RAW files can be shared with others (by the photographer) using a direct link to the file. RAW files can also be shared or sold by linking the RAW file to an image, and then allowing the download or purchase of that image.
Click here for more information on RAW file storage.
What is the largest file size I can upload?
It really depends on your plan! Starter accounts can hold image files up to 36 MB, while Pro and Advanced accounts can hold image files up to 64 MB.
Uploaded video files and RAW files can be up to 2 GB in size.
Feel free to compare this feature side-by-side with each plan, here.
Can I upload directly from my Photo Processing Software?
You can in many cases! We have integration capability with many programs, such as Aperture and Lightroom.
Click here for a full list of our uploading tools and integration possibilities. Please note that the uploading services, other than our built-in bulk uploader, are all third-party developed. The functionality of these services will ultimately depend on the original developer making sure their offerings are up to date and functional with Zenfolio.
Do I need to have a Credit Card on file?
For security reasons, we do require all accounts to have a valid Credit Card on file. Need to review or update your credit card? Check out this link.
Are there any extra fees?
Good question! There are no hidden fees associated with any of our accounts. Here is a full list of fees you may be charged:
-
The subscription fee associated with your plan.
-
The Commerce Fee and Payment Processing Fee for any products sold
-
RAW storage fee (if over the 2GB provided in your plan)
-
$5 fee if requesting a payout by check as opposed to FREE Paypal or ACH transfer (with the exception of below). Please note that the ability to request a payout by check is only available to accounts that were previously provided that option. We no longer offer payouts by check for new accounts.
-
A $25 fee for returned ACH transfers- only charged when incorrect information has been entered and the transfer is rejected by the bank
What account level do I have?
We can help you locate that information. If you’re not already, go ahead and log into your account. Once you’re in, go to Settings. Your current plan name will be displayed under the Account Information tab.
Can I upgrade or switch to a higher plan at any time? How does that work?
If you already have an account, you can upgrade to a higher plan anytime. You’ll receive a pro-rated credit for the remaining time of your current plan, which will be applied towards a new one-year subscription with the higher plan. The difference will be charged to your credit card on file.
You can upgrade your account on your own by clicking “Upgrade” in the Account Information page under the Settings tab. Here’s more information, if you’re interested!
Can I Downgrade my account?
If you’d like to switch to a lower plan, reach out to Zenfolio support, preferably at least 2 days before your renewal date. If you’ve checked out the Plans page but still aren’t sure which plan is the best fit for you, let us know and we’d love to help you figure that out!
Just so you know, we are happy to provide a refund for annually paid accounts if you are within 30 days of signing up for or renewing your annual plan, but we may not issue a refund if you are over 30 days into your subscription or renewal. Unfortunately, we do not provide refunds for monthly plan cancellations. We can set the account to downgrade on your next renewal date.
Finally, keep in mind that switching from an annual plan to a monthly plan is considered a plan downgrade, even when switching to a plan with more features.
How can I delete or close my account?
We really hate to see you go, but if you do need to cancel your subscription, click here to go to our cancellation form.
Just so you know, we are happy to provide a refund if you are within 30 days of signing up for or renewing your annual plan, but we may not issue a refund if you are over 30 days into your subscription or renewal. Unfortunately, we do not provide refunds for monthly plan cancellations.
If you’re on the fence about it and not quite sure, we’d love to offer you a free one-on-one session with one of our Success Specialists to make sure you’re making the most of what Zenfolio has to offer with showcasing your work, marketing to your clients, and selling your photography for a profit.
Do you have a monthly payment option?
Sure, we provide both annual and monthly payment options for our current plans. You’ll find that paying for an annual plan is actually cheaper in the long run, but we understand that sometimes a more frequent, smaller premium is preferred.
Check out this link for a list of our current plans that offer monthly payments.
We’d also love to make sure you know that while we do not provide refunds for monthly plans, if you’re unhappy with an annual plan for any reason, feel free to cancel within 30 days and you’ll receive a full refund.
Can I use my account balance for my subscription cost?
Absolutely! In fact, we typically do apply any positive balance towards your subscription renewal first before charging the credit card on file.
Are there any discounts available?
We have a referral program in which a new user will get a discount on their first year’s subscription, and the referring member earns a matching credit. You can learn more about our referral program here.
What are referral codes?
Every account comes with its own, unique referral code. When you refer a friend, we use your referral code to grant both of you a 10% credit toward your subscriptions. Feel free to read more about our referral program, here.
How can I integrate your website into my main website as a proofing gallery?
If you have a website hosted elsewhere and only want to use your Zenfolio website for proofing and selling, you can absolutely do that using our Client Access feature, available in both our Pro and Advanced Plans. With the Client Access feature, clients can enter a specific client access code to be taken directly to their own individual gallery, where they can then purchase prints, products and digital downloads from the Price List you’ve assigned. Here’s some more information on how to set this up.
What is self-fulfillment?
Many photographers want to be the ones to fulfill their clients’ orders personally, which is why we provide the option to create and sell Self-fulfilled Products with our Pro and Advanced plans. With Self-fulfilled Products, your customers use your Zenfolio shopping cart feature to place their order; we then forward the order directly to you so that you can then fulfill and ship the order to them.
An added benefit of using self-fulfilled products is that you can specify exactly how your customers will pay you: either directly (outside of Zenfolio), or using Paypal. Advanced plan subscribers have an added option to collect payment using their own Merchant Account.
Check out some more information on how to sell Self-fulfilled products.
