Note: this a feature that is exclusively for our Pro and Advanced plan subscribers!
At Zenfolio, we’re happy to provide a robust and flexible e-commerce platform that allows for the selling of prints and other products from your images. As a Pro or Advanced subscriber, you have the ability to sell products from our partner vendors, to create self-fulfilled products, digital products for download, and to package any of these together… all at your own prices.
Please note that Starter subscribers can sell their photos, but only using base lab prices (i.e. with no markup or profit built in).
If you’re more of a visual learner, check out this video to see a demonstration of the steps required to sell through your site.
Selling General Outline
Here’s a general overview of the steps you will need to take in order to start selling your photography through your website:
-
Create a Price List
-
Add Products to the Price List
-
Set the Prices for those products
-
Assign the Price List to your Galleries
After doing all of the above, make sure to fill out your Payout Profile info. This is where you set up how you would like to receive your profits.
Please note that for Digital Download products and Self Fulfilled products, you will need to create the products first, and then add them to the price list in the same way Vendor Products are added.
Pre-order packages are sold outside of price lists, and therefore do not require being added to a price list.
Selling Overview
Your Selling Overview provides a quick review of your current sales information. Pending Orders shows how many orders from your website are in the process of being completed, as well as which orders may need attention before order processing is completed.
A brief overview on Getting Started with Selling can also be found in this area. We highly suggest you read this overview if you are interested in selling your photos for a profit.
Simply stated, if you're ready to take your passion to the next level, our flexible e-commerce platform enables you to easily and seamlessly sell and print your photos.
Getting Started Selling Products
If you are interested in selling self-fulfilled products, digital products, or creating packages for sale, initial steps for setup will be needed according to the desired outcome (listed below):
-
Self-fulfilled Products will need to be defined; don’t forget to include how they will be shipped (if at all) and how you will accept payment.
-
Digital Products will need to be defined and secured with specific license agreements for use.
-
Packages will need to be defined with appropriate contents and selling price per package.
-
Pre-order Packages allow you to sell products and services without any associated images, which allows clients to pre-order photos and prints before the photos have been taken - all of this requires initial set up. This feature can also be used to sell products and services that don't require the selection of any photos.
-
Learn how to add a booking widget to your website and allow clients to book & pay by adding BookMe
Vendor fulfilled products are predefined and ready to be added to a Price List with just a few mouse clicks, making them the easiest selling solution for busy photographers. When you take advantage of our complete integration with these vendors, you are able to track an order from the time it was placed through printing, packaging, and shipping. We take pride in the fact that we use only the best print vendors in the industry with a proven record of quality and attention to detail.
Once products have been added to a Price List, you’ll want to adjust the Selling Prices as you see fit. From there, it’s simply a matter of linking your Price List to one or multiple Galleries or Groups. Here’s an overview explaining in detail the process of creating, configuring, and implementing Price Lists for your products. After your Price Lists have been implemented, you’ll want to use Reports to keep track of sales, and to transfer payouts for sales completed.
