Customizing a Photo Page

Photo Pages are the web pages used to display your individual photos. Photo pages can be customized to your liking at any time through Customize Website View.

You'll be able to customize the Photo Page by applying different Themes, Layouts and Options to the page.

Any customization changes that you make to the Photo Page will be automatically reflected on all of the other Photo Pages of all of the photos in the same Gallery.

Selecting the Layout

Layouts define the elements and their placement on your Photo Pages. As with all other customization options, new layouts can be applied in Customize Website View.

1. In your account, go to Photos.
2. Navigate to the desired Gallery under the Organizer.
3. Hover the mouse pointer over Preview then click on Customize.

The page will refresh with Customize Website View displayed at the top, confirming that you are in the customization mode.
 

For Zenfolio users that signed up after May 10 2018, please see the updated instructions below

1. In your account, go to Photos.
2. Navigate to the desired Gallery under the Organizer.
3. Click on Preview.
4. In the Customize view, click on Edit
5. Then choose Page from the dropdown menu that appears

The page will refresh with customization tools displayed at the top, confirming that you are in the customization mode.

1. Click on Gallery Thumbnails in the top left corner then choose Gallery Photos from the menu that appears
2. Click Layout in the top menu. A popup window will open.
3. Uncheck Use Default Settings for Layout, Theme, and Options if necessary.
4. Click to select the layout you would like to use for the Photo Page.
5. Click Apply to confirm and apply the selection. The page will refresh with the new layout applied. Review the page with the new layout to see if it is to your liking. Repeat steps 2 to 5 until you are happy with the selection.
6. Click Publish to apply the changes to your live site and exit this mode.

Selecting a Theme

The Theme of your Photo Page will define its visual appearance. The theme controls the page's colors, background image, opacity of elements on the page, fonts, font sizes and font colors.

A number of themes are provided to choose from and Zenfolio is continually adding new themes.  You can also create your own custom theme and apply it to the page.

1. In your account, go to Photos.
2. Navigate to the desired Gallery under the Organizer.
3. Hover the mouse pointer over Preview then click on Customize.

The page will refresh with Customize Website View displayed at the top, confirming that you are in the customization mode.

1. In your account, go to Photos.
2. Navigate to the desired Gallery under the Organizer.
3. Click on Preview.
4. In the Customize view, click on Edit
5. Then choose Page from the dropdown menu that appears

The page will refresh with customization tools displayed at the top, confirming that you are in the customization mode.
 

1. Click on Gallery Thumbnails in the top left corner then choose Gallery Photos from the menu that appears
2. Click Theme in the Main Menu. A popup window will open.
3. Uncheck Use Default Settings for Layout, Theme, and Options if necessary.
4. In the new window that appears, click on the preview icons to change the view between Thumbnails and Large Preview. We will use Thumbnails for this example.
5. Select the Theme from the themes provided or choose a Custom Theme
6. Click Apply to confirm and apply the selection. The page will refresh with the new theme applied. Review the page with the new theme to see if it is to your liking. Repeat steps 2 to 5 until you are happy with the selection.
7. Click Publish to apply the changes to your live site and exit this mode.

Please note: the same theme is automatically applied to other photo pages within the same gallery and collection in order to ensure a consistent online presentation.

Access Photo Page Options

Through the Options panel, you can configure different options available under the selected layout.  These options will vary based on the layout selected.  Try different layouts to see which options are available under each layout.

1. In your account, go to Photos.
2. Navigate to the desired Gallery under the Organizer.
3. Hover the mouse pointer over Preview then click on Customize.

The page will refresh with Customize Website View displayed at the top, confirming that you are in the customization mode.​

1. In your account, go to Photos.
2. Navigate to the desired Gallery under the Organizer.
3. Click on Preview.
4. In the Customize view, click on Edit
5. Then choose Page from the dropdown menu that appears

The page will refresh with customization tools displayed at the top, confirming that you are in the customization mode.

1. Click on Gallery Thumbnails in the top left corner then choose Gallery Photos from the menu that appears
2. Click Options from the top menu. A popup window will open.
3. If the gallery is set to use default customization settings, uncheck Use Default Settings to edit the page directly and give the page its own settings outside of the default settings.
4. Select the tab that contains the desired options. 
5. Mark or Unmark the circles for the desired elements to display or hide them from the page.
6. Click Apply to confirm and apply the selection. The page will refresh with the new Option settings applied. Review the Photo Page with its new Options. Repeat steps 2 to 5 until you are happy with the selection. 
7. Publish your changes before exiting Customize Website View to make those changes live on your site.

Note: Available elements change depending on the layout applied to the Photo Page.  If you see 'Not available for this layout' for a specific element, you'll need to apply a different layout to the photo page to display that element.
